Taco Bell Headquarters

Irvine, CA

tacobell_pooltable

Challenge:
Create an inventive, modern headquarters for one of the world’s largest quick-service restaurant companies – a workspace environment to inspire the 16- to 25-year-olds who make up a large share of the employee base.

Approach:
Research, research, research. We studied video game designer spaces, tech-driven areas that foster collaboration with work-from-home employees, trends in modern workspaces and think-tank environments.

Result: An environment that allows flexibility and freedom, encourages creativity and collaboration, and ensures free-flowing information and team work. In this LEED-certified building, the Taco Bell brand is reinvented daily.

Hotel at Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort

Hogansburg, NY

AMC_lobby

Challenge:
Create a hotel for an existing casino to drive revenue and destination stays.

Approach:
Forged a single-team approach with the Mohawk Tribal Council to ensure the facility would meet both cultural and commercial expectations. We created a partnership of trust through continuous communication throughout the project.

Result: A hotel experience in upstate New York that makes Akwesasne a destination resort, not a day-trip casino. The project was a success for the tribe, with the annual revenues to prove it.

Flood Protection at Harlow’s Resort and Casino

Greenville, MS

Casino Confer Bld

Challenge:
Protect a hotel and casino from imminent flooding of the Mississippi River.

Approach:
Developed and quickly built an innovative sand-wall system to protect the facilities as flood waters rose. We established a team with a direct line to the Mississippi Gaming Commission and the Levee Board to allow our team to act as the authority for protection of people and property. We coordinated the installation of protection systems, evacuation of customers and staff and access during and after the flood.

Result:
The casino, hotel and staff were protected from the flood waters, and Harlow’s was the first facility to reopen when the waters receded. We also successfully negotiated with the insurance company to apply losses of other property areas to pay for construction of a new event center, steakhouse and buffet restaurant.
